Posted Date: 1/09/25 (5:51 PM)

Dear Elmira High School Families,

Welcome back to school after winter break! We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating holiday season. It’s wonderful to see everyone back and ready to finish the semester strong.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with the amazing students and families of Elmira High School.

As we return from winter break, there are two full weeks remaining in the semester. Please note that there will be no school on Monday, January 20th, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. The semester officially ends on Thursday, January 23rd, and there will be no school on Friday, January 24th to provide teachers opportunity to complete grades.

On the last two days of the semester, January 22nd and 23rd, students will follow a special schedule. Here are the details for finals:

These final weeks are a critical time to focus on goals, complete assignments, and prepare for finals. If extra support is needed, don’t forget after-school homework club is available every Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. It’s a great resource for staying on top of coursework. There is no transportation available for students who attend homework club.

Also, if your student is feeling behind or unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers. Whether you need help understanding a concept, catching up on assignments, or planning your next steps, your teachers are ready to support you. Don’t wait, take advantage of their knowledge, experience, and encouragement while there’s still time in the semester.
